Things that happened on March 14th
Ok, this post should really be about Megan's birthday, seeing that is was this week, but Noel's blog prompted me to do a Wikipedia search on my birthday instead. Here's the deal: Go to Wikipedia, type in your birthday without the year, then pick a few events, births and deaths to post as a comment or on your own blog.
Here are some noteable events, births and deaths that happened on March 14th, my birthday.
Events:
1794 - Eli Whitney is granted a patent for the cotton gin.
Birthdays:
1879 - Albert Einstein, German-born physicist, Nobel Prize laureate (d. 1955)
(you KNOW I'm proud of that one!)
1947 - Billy Crystal, American actor and comedian (pretty proud of this one, too)
1950 - Rick Dees, American disc jockey (definitely UN-proud of this one)
Deaths:
1883 - Karl Marx, German political theorist (b. 1818)
So there you have it. Maybe this will finally prompt Megan to post something of her own on the blog!
